The author gives an insight into her thoughts about the notion of promises in this world. The narrator had made a promise to Saheb which was not meant to be kept. She realizes her mistake and critically thinks over the lives of the people in the world. She comes to the conclusion that such type of promises are promised but they never get fulfilled ever. The world also remains sad and gloomy because of the unfulfilled promises.
