The concentration of H+ (aq) ions determines the acidic nature of the solution. Hence, the acidity of a solution increases with increase in the concentration of H+ (aq) ions and basicity increases with the decrease of H+ ions (Just like in pH scale, acidity increases on increasing of H+ ions and vice versa)
