Low precipitation over a number of continuous years will result in depletion of water sources such as rivers, lakes, streams, reservoirs – both artificial and natural, ground water sources etc. When these fresh water sources are depleted, it will result in scarcity of water for drinking as well as for agricultural purposes.
Hence, it is necessary to conserve water and maintain the sources of water responsibly, when water is available.
