What effect would gravity have on a jellyfish if it were taken out of water ? Why doesn't gravity have this effect while the jellyfish is in water ?

No , gravity has effect on jelly fish even it is in water ! becouse the weight of water is given by gravity .. so gravity is indirectly influence the pressure on jellyfish

if jellyfish taken out from water pressure is reduced and only atmospheric pressure remained effective !

so in water jellyfish weight is also less than outside ! as you know anything in liquid experience the upward thrust .

so weight of jelly fish increase as we took out it from water
