Aurangzeb was an orthodox Muslim and his policies were hated by the ninth guru of Sikh, Guru Tegh Bahadur. So he was martyred by Aurangzeb. Angered by this guru gobind Singh fromed the Khalsa which was a sikh military. It was due to Khalsa and the decline of Mughal empire that Sikhs rose the power.
