Fourteen years of outcast had passed and individuals of the kingdom Ayodhya were sitting tight for Lord Rama to return home.

Individuals cleaned their homes to look good and lit oil lights to demonstrate to them their path embellished with blooms and festoons.

Bloom's fragrance and aroma filled noticeable all around. Each road was cleaned and watered, designed with Diwali Rangoli to welcome them back.

From that point forward, as per Diwali story, individuals lit lights at Diwali to recollect that light triumphs over obscurity and a great victory over the evils.
