Experiment to confirm the genotype of F2 generation -

• In the F1 generation, a heterozygous tall plant is obtained with genotype - Tt.
• To show that the F2 generation has in fact 1:2:1 ratio, we need to self pollinate the progenies in F2.
• When TT plant is self pollinated, all tall plants are obtained.
• When Tt plant is self pollinated, tall and short plants are obtained in the ratio 3:1
• When short tt plants are self pollinated, all short plants are obtained.
• Hence, it can be inferred that the the progenies obtained in F2 generation are infact in the ratio 1:2:1
