After the first world war Britain imposed humiliating terms on the ruler of Turkey, who was also the Khalifa of Islam the head of the Muslim throughout the word .Indian Muslims who started the Khalifa Khilafat movement under the leadership of Ali Brother ,Muhammad Ali and Shaukat Ali and and other Abul Kalam Azad. they put pressure on the British government to give better treatment to Turkey.
