Given  Circle in figure ∠PQR = 120°

To Find : what faction of the whole circle is minor arc RP in the given figure?

(a) 1/4 of the circle

(b) 1/5 of the circle

(c) 1/3 of the circle

(d) 1/2 of the circle

Solution:

∠PQR = 120°

=> ∠POR  = 2(120°)  = 240°

Major arc ∠PR =240°

Minor arc ∠PR =360° - 240°  = 120°

faction of the whole circle is minor arc RP in the given figure  = ( 120° /  360°)

= 1/3
