The factors of a “cell culture's environment” is made as similar as possible to a “cell's natural surroundings” are:

i)    The cells are maintained and grown in a medium supplemented with glutamine, serum and antibiotics to maintain growth supplements and sterility and prevent growth of bacteria.

ii)    The pH of the growth medium is fixed to the pH of the body.

iii)   The cells are grown in an incubator where it is maintained at \bold{37^{\circ} \mathrm{C}}, humidity maintained and a fixed concentration of \bold{\mathrm{CO}_{2}}.
