We can simply, factorise the given term, and figure out the technique eventually.

Factorization :

= x²-16

= x²-(4)²

= (x+4) (x-4)

Technique used here :

a²-b² = (a+b) (a-b)

As, LHS is difference (subtraction) of two squares (ie. a²,b²), this technique can be considered as the difference of two squares.

Hence, we will use the technique of difference of two squares.
