what factors are most likely to affect the breathing rate?
Answers
The rate of breathing is affected by many chemical factors like the level of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the blood. The increase in levels of the carbon dioxide will lower the blood pH this will direct the medulla of the brain to increase the breathing rate to obtain more amount of oxygen in the body.
The factors that are most likely to affect the breathing rate are:-
√Levels of *Carbon dioxide* and *oxygen* in the blood
√Our blood *Ph*
•Breathing is simply the process of inhaling and exhaling oxygen and carbon dioxide respectively.
*Certain activities that affect our breathing rate are*:-
• Doing any highly active physical activity example *aerobic exercises*.
•Aerobic exercises further include playing basketball, jogging, running or playing soccer, these exercises causes the person to breathe more.
•The most important factor that affects the breathing rate is an allergic reaction.
• *Allergic* reaction to stimuli (for example pollen) can lead to inflammation in the passageway leading to lungs
• *Nervous* conditions or excessive production of *adrenaline* can also influence the breathing rate
• *Smoking* also affects our breathing rate
*These all conditions lead to a change in the level of carbon and dioxide and oxygen present in the blood which in turn affects our breathing rate*.
