What Factors Helped End the Revolutionary War?
When you read about the events in the Revolutionary War there are many reasons why you could say the Americans should have lost. Why didn't they? What helped lead to the end of the Revolutionary War?

One of the first things that helped, is George Washington's leadership of the army. His strategy to try to contain the war in specific areas avoided many useless battles.

Another reason is the distance between the two countries. Great Britain had to travel across the Atlantic to send their troops over to fight. This was a long, and costly trip. Back then there were no phones or fast forms of communication, so it made it hard for Britain to communicate with their armies to form better strategies for battle. As well as not being able to communicate quickly when they ran out of supplies. The British Army also wasn't familiar with the land they were fighting on because they were not from America.

The other factor that helped lead to the end of the war is the Foreign Alliances that were created with America. France especially provided a lot of aid to the Americans by supplying supplies for a really cheap price and later even helping the Americans in battles.

Reflect on what you learned in this module about the Revolutionary War. Do you think the Americans would have won if they hadn't had the advantages listed above? Why or why not? Use examples from your lesson or your own research to support your view.
