Srilanka civil war is a results of rival and competing political aspirations of Sinhalese and tamil of sri lanka. being the majority Sinhalese got political power to govern the Country after independence while Tamils saw this as a lost of their political influence on governance .

Measures taken in majoritarianism gradually increased the feeling of alienation among Sri Lankan Tamils. They felt that the constitution and government policies denied them equal political rights, discriminated against them in getting jobs and other opportunities and ignored their interests.

the distance between the two communities soon turn into a widespread civil war

thanks.

hope it helps you
