Factors which will affect the time period of Bob when it is attached with string and is hanging vertically are as follows:

  • Length of string upto Centre of Mass of Bob

  • Gravitational acceleration at that point on the earth surface.

Whenever we hang a Bob vertically with the string and give a small angular displacement , it actually resembles a simple pendulum.

Mathematically, the time period of any simple pendulum at a particular point on the Earth surface can be represented as :

 \boxed{ \sf{time \: period = 2\pi \sqrt{ \dfrac{l}{g} } }}

Here , "l" refers to the length of the string extending upto the centre of mass of the bob.

And "g" refers to the gravitational acceleration exerted on that bob at a particular place on the earth surface.
