Answer:

In the presence of excessive heat the thermostat falls i.e expands in such a way that the circuit breaks.

Explanation:

An electronic iron is a device used to iron clothes. It makes the appearance of clothes better and removes the unwanted creases.

An electric iron works with a help of a coil. In the presence of appropriate temperature maintains it maintains the circuit connection and transfers heat to the base of the iron resulting in the pressed effect of clothes.

The working of an iron is very interesting. It consists of a Bimetallic strip which helps in conduction of heat and turns the heat on or off in an iron. This strip is called Thermostat. It through its unique function prevents overheating and dangerous accidents.

The two metaled strip on overheating break the physical circuit connection as it bends more resulting in a gap between the the springs through the small pins.
