After the accident, when Hooper was in the hospital, the company officials came to meet him and advised him to take an year's leave from his job. They even consoled him that they would provide him a desk job when he would return to the company headquarters.
Later, when he went to the local branch his office, the officials could not say him "No" , but they were apprehensive. They couldn't decide what they would do with a salesman who could not move around and could work only an hour a day. But they didn't say anything because when a person struggles to get back his job, nobody can say a "No'" to him because he already knows all about it.
