Facial recognition is a logistics problem with multiple classes. Simple logistic regression analysis will be good but I believe LDA will work great on this.

LDA (linear discriminant analysis) is best when we have multiple classes for logistical problem. You can also try Fisher Faces algorithm for face detection and extracting face features.
