A secondary consumer is a consumer in the second position on the food chain. A secondary consumer consumes the animals that eat only plants. Secondary consumers primarily consume meat and obtain their sustenance from either capturing and killing, or being predatory, or by scavenging or feeding on already dead animals and should be carnivore also.......

The features that secondary consumers have to help them catch their food are as follows,

  • The secondary consumers are stronger than the primary consumers. Due to this they have the ability to trap the primary consumers easily.
  • In case of frogs, their long sticky tongue helps them to catch their prey without going near to it.
  • The adaptive features which they possess to survive in a habitat helps them to catch their food.
