Ans: The traveler describes the statue that its legs were fallen apart. Its face looked arrogant. The traveler even saw a board near the ground on which it was written ‘My name is Ozymandias’. King of kings. Look at my works, ye mighty and despair’.

♦ The traveler saw these and realized that not everything would live long. There is a time when everything will come to an end. He king was once a legend but now there may be none knowing him. He understands that not everything is eternal.

The fact that the statue is in ruins illustrates the fact that power is fleeting. It is ironic that Ozymandias wanted this to be a lasting monument to his greatness because what is left only communicates his arrogance and a ruined, rather than majestic, sculpture. No one will despair as he had wished.
