✴️Fire isn't really made up of atoms✴️

✳️ Rather it is heat and light being released in the process of combustion.

✳️The flame itself occurs within a region of gas where intense exothermic (heat releasing) reactions are taking place.

✳️Non-flammable substances do not have that region of gas where those extreme and rapid reactions take place.

Answer:

The flame is the visible portion of thefire.

Flames consist primarily of carbon dioxide, water vapor, oxygen and nitrogen.

If hot enough, the gases may become ionized to produce plasma.
