Given:-

  • Initial velocity ,u = 0m/s

  • Mass ,m = 60kg

  • Final velocity ,v = 5m/s

  • Time taken ,t = 2 s

To Find:-

  • Force ,F

Solution:-

Firstly we calculate the acceleration of the wagon .

Acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity at per unit time.

a = v-u/t

a is the acceleration

v is the final velocity

u is the initial velocity

t is the time taken

Substitute the value we get

a = 5-0/2

a = 5/2

a = 2.5m/

Acceleration of wagon is 2.5 m/.

Now, Calculating the Force

Force is the product of mass and acceleration.

F = ma

where,

F is the Force

m is the mass

a is the acceleration

Substitute the value we get

F = 60 × 2.5

F = 150 N

Therefore,

The force needed to accelerate the wagon is 150 Newton.

Hence, Option (C) is the required answer .
