The answer is 1.25 × 10⁻³ N
GIVEN
Mass of ball = 25 grams
Acceleration = 5cm/s²
TO FIND
Force needed
SOLUTION
We can simply solve the above problem as follows;
It is given that mass of ball = 25 grams = 25/1000 = 0.025 kg
Acceleration of the ball = 5cm/s² = 0.05 m/s²
From Newton's second law of motion
F = ma
Where,
F = force exerted on the object
m = mass of the body
a = acceleration
Therefore,
F = 0.025 × 0.05
= 0.00125
= 1.25 × 10⁻³ N
Hence, The answer is 1.25 × 10⁻³ N
