Answer :-

(i) Force in S.I. unit = 160 N

(ii) Force in C.G.S. unit = 1.6 × 10 dyne

Explanation :-

We have :-

→ Pressure exerted = 4000 Pa

→ Contact area = 0.04

________________________________

Firstly, we should know that the S.I. unit of force is "Newton" and C.G.S. unit is "dyne" .

In S.I. Unit :-

Force in S.I. unit can be calculated by putting values in the formula as follows :-

⇒ Pressure = Force/Contact Area

⇒ 4000 = Force/0.04

⇒ 4000(0.04) = Force

⇒ Force = 160 N

In C.G.S Unit :-

⇒ 1 N = 10⁵ dyne

⇒ 160 N = 160 × 10⁵

⇒ 1.6 × 10⁷ dyne

Answer:

Given :-

  • A pressure of 4000 pascal on an area of 0.04 m².

To Find :-

  • What is the force exerted in S.I and C.G.S unit.

Formula Used :-

\large{\blue{\fbox{\purple{\bigstar{\frak{\orange{Pressure =\: \dfrac{Force}{Area}}}}}}}}

Solution :-

Force in S.I unit :--

➪ 4000 = \dfrac{Force}{0.04}

➪ Force = 0.04(4000)

➪ Force = 160 N

{\large{\bold{\purple{\underline{Force =\: 160\: N}}}}}

⚘ Force in C.G.S unit :

➾ Force = 160 N

➾ Force = 160 × 10⁵

\red{ \boxed{\sf{Force =\: 1.6 \times 10^7\: dyne}}}

  • A force is a push or pull upon an object resulting from the object's interaction with another object. Whenever there is an interaction between two objects, there is a force upon each of the objects.

  • The pressure is thrust per unit area, hence it is directly proportional to thrust and inversely proportional to area. The units used for pressure is pounds per square inch, Newtons per square meter, or Pascals.

  • Contact area refers to the fraction of the nominal area that consists of atoms of one object in true contact with the atoms of the other object.
