 \bold{OXYGEN}

Oxygen is a non metal element which lies in period 2 and group 16 .

◼Its electronic configuration will be = (2,6)

◼Its valency will be = -2.

Which means it need two electrons to be stable like nearest noble gas neon.

 \bold{ALUMINIUM}

Aluimium is metal which lies in period 3 and group 13.So,

◼Its electronic configuration will be (2,8,3)

◼Its valency will be = +3

Which means that it need to lose its 3 electrons to be stable like nearest noble gas argon.

 \bold{ALUMINIUM \: AND \: OXYGEN \: COMBINES}

Since, the valency of both elements differes ,so two atoms of aluminium reacts loses its total 6 electrons to three atoms of oxygen and becomes stable. Oxygen in receiving electrons from aluminium becomes stable like argon.

 \huge \boxed{Al_2O_3}
