Amoeba is an organisms made up up a single cell. It is usually found in ponds and ditches. It food consists of the microscopic organisms found in which water bodies. It does not have a very structured body.
When Amoeba senses food it forms finger like projection called pseudopodia (pseudo means false; podium foot), which completely enclose the food, resulting in the formation of a space or cavity called a food vacuole. some digestive juices secreted in the food vacuole and the food is digested there. It is then absorbed and assimilated, and the undigested part is thrown out.
