Ariel now enters with Alonso and his companions, who have been charmed and obediently stand in a circle. Prospero speaks to them in theircharmed state, praising Gonzalo forhis loyalty and chiding the others fortheir treachery. He then sends Ariel tohis cell to fetch the clothes he once wore as Duke of Milan.
