Also, elements of f block show a very close resemblance in their chemical as well as physical properties. They could not have been placed in the main body of the periodic table as it would have disturbed other elements and this would have created anomalies regarding properties of elements.

if f block elements are not placed separately periodic table will be very large and it would be difficult to remember all the elements.
