When we kill the organisms of one trophic level... all the organisms in the trophic levels are affected. For e.g. in the food chain (plants - deer - lion), if we kill all the lions then the deer population will increase drastically, reducing the amount of grass present in that particular area. Since, there will be no lions left to kill the deers, the amount of grass will reduce leading to a scarcity of grass and ultimately to the death of all the deers due to shortage of grass. Hence the food chain is completely destroyed.
