What happen if saliva is not secreated in our mouth

if saliva will not be secreted by salovary glands then our food will not become smooth and the hard food can cause damage of oesophagus or food pipe and the food will also not be converted into sugar.

as we know saliva is a digestive enzumes and helps in digestion and because of saliva we could eat food easily as it soft the food so these are the problem
