What happen to dipole of a bar magnet if cut into two equal pieces (1) parallel to its length (2) transverse to its length

P = m × 2l ..

Now since the length is halved, p becomes half.

And pole strength doesn't cut when you go perpendicular .

It only cuts when you go parallel.

In either case , dipole moment is halved.
