Answer:

Yes, these leaves can also carry out the process of photosynthesis because they contain chlorophyll. The large amount of red, brown and violet pigment mask the green colour of chlorophyll in these leaves.

Answer:

Leaves are green because of the presence of the pigment called Chlorophyll.

It absorbs light (red and blue) for energy; the unabsorbed green bounces away and is detected by our eyes and thus appearing green.

But there are so many plants that may contain multiple pigments, with different colours.

While other-coloured plants also have chlorophyll, having other pigments in greater quantities than chlorophyll, the other-coloured plants appear red, violet, brown, or purple and they can do photosynthesis.
