The opening and closing of stomata is controlled by guard cells.when water flows into the guard cells from the neighbouring epidermal cells they swell i.e. become turgid and becone curved and cause the opening ofstomatal pore .when the guard cellslose water tey shrink become straightand cause the closure of stomatal.
