1) area of a square= (s/2)^2=s^2/4.
Then area become 1/4 times.

2) area of a square =(2s)^2=4s^2.
Then area become 4 times.

Area = a²

A.) HALVED
Area = (a/2)²
Area = a²/4
Area = 1/4(a²)
Area = 1/4(Area)

Area will be equal to 1/4th of the actual area.

B.) DOUBLED
Area = (2a)²
Area = 4a²
Area = 4(a²)
Area = 4(area)

Area will be equal to 4 times the actual area.
