Metals are highly corrosive in nature which means that when they come in contact with some material ,they cause burns.Like for example,if acid comes in contact with your skin,you get a burn.I don't think there would be any effect on stones....as for wood,it's shape and form could change.
Also,when acids come in contact with metals,they react together to form a salt(metal salt to be specific) and release a gas 'Hydrogen'
