When benzene is burned in free supply of air, it evolves carbon dioxide and water vapour. Benzene is a hydrocarbon made of carbon and hydrogen. On burning in free supply air with adequate oxygen content, the carbon and hydrogen in benzene get oxidized to carbon dioxide and water vapour respectively.
