What happen when bromine water is added to aniline?

as Br is highly reactive in presence of water it occupies 2,4,6 position of toluene and form 2,4,6 tribromo aniline

Hey folk...

As we know that -NH2 is ring activating grp means ortho and para directing group so phenyl ring in phenynamine will show substitution reaction , and ring is highly activated than Br will occupy all the ortho and para positions of ring.

the reactions will be:

phenylamine + 3Br2 --------> 2,4,6-tribromophenylamine + 2HBr
