if this happens then copper will displace silver from its nitrate and form CuSO4.
:agNO3(AQ.)+Cu(s). -------> CuNO3(AQ.) + ag(s)
:agNO3(AQ.)+Cu(s). -------> CuNO3(AQ.) + ag(s)

Hey there !!
Here is the descending order of reactivity series of metals :-
Metals that are more reactive than hydrogen :-
Potassium
Sodium
Calcium
Magnesium
Aluminum
Zinc
Iron
Tin
Lead
Metals less reactive than hydrogen :-
Copper
Mercury
Silver
Gold
Cu + AgNO3 ----> CuNO3 + Ag [ balanced equation]
Here .,
copper being more reactive than silver , displaced silver from its compound.
this is an example of displacement reaction
