When dilute sulphuric acid is added to sodium carbonate, the corresponding salt, sodium sulphate and water are formed and carbon dioxide gas is evolved.
H2SO4 + Na2CO3 -----> Na2SO4 + H2O + CO2
H2SO4 + Na2CO3 -----> Na2SO4 + H2O + CO2
