What happen when dilute hydrochloric acid added to iron filling

HCL (l ) + Fe ( s ) ====> Fecl2 + H2 ( g )



when iron filling react with hydrochloric acid there is formation of ferric chloride and evolution of hydrogen gas..




if a metal react with any ACID it release hydrogen gas

with the formation of corresponding salt .



here is the reaction :-



Metal + Acid ==> salt + hydrogen gas

6HCl (aq) + 2 Fe (s) ----->> FeCl3 (aq) + 3H2(g)

✒ Hydrogen gas can detect by using candle ( burn with pop sound)
