Explanation:

2Hcl + Fe <  Fecl2 + H2

When dilute hydrochloric acid is reacted with iron fillings we will get iron(ii) chloride and hydrogen gas.

Iron displaces hydrogen gas from hcl.

this is a single displacement reaction
