Answer: Here's the answer,
When dry raisins are left in water it gains water by a process called osmosis. Dry raisins have very less water concentration inside it so, when we put raisins in water there is a hypotonic solution outside the raisins so it gains water. And if we transfer the same raisins in sugar solution it'll lose water because the sugar solution is hypertonic for raisins because it contains only sucrose molecules.
