When earth will stop spinning then, the changing of night snd day will stop. The lighted part will slowly over many years become hot and no life will exist and the dark part will be very much cold for which any life cannot survive there. The weather will not changeand ultimately the planet will become lifeless. The water in the bright part will be finished due to such heat and in the dark part the water will be transferred to ice. So, it will be very harmful.

What would happen if the Earth stopped spinning? ... If the Earth stopped spinning suddenly, the atmosphere would still be in motion with the Earth's original 1100 mile per hour rotation speed at the equator. All of the land masses would be scoured clean of anything not attached to bedrock.
