FeSO4 (on heating)---->Fe2O3+So2+S03
it is observed that a brown coloured substance(Fe203) is produced alongwith a gas(S02) which smells like burning sulphur.

when ferrous sulphate is burn it gives ferrous oxide + sulfuric oxide+ sulphate.
