oxidation of Fe to Fe+3 gives you:
2 Fe + 6 H2O → 2 Fe(OH)3 + 3 H2

These iron hydroxides are pretty INsoluble in water, so they precipitate out.
Note that these are dependent on pH. In an acidic solution, you won’t have hydroxides forming.
