As the liquid is heated the the kinetic energy of the molecules increase and they liquid starts to expand. When the temperature reaches the boiling point of the liquid it starts boiling the phase changes from liquid to gaseous.

When the liquid is heated then it changes to a vapor state (gas) and this process is called boiling.

During this process when the liquid is heated and the temperature reaches its boiling point then the force of attraction (which binds molecules closely) between the molecules of liquid starts to loosen up due to which the intermolecular space( the space between two consecutive molecules) between the molecules increases and the liquid is converted into vapors.

The process of converting liquid into vapors is known as vaporization.
