2Mg+O2====>2MgO

It is an example of Combination Reaction.

Important Points:-

Combination reaction:- A chemical recation, in which two or more substances(reactants) combine to form a new substances(products), is called a combination reaction.

More examples:-

i) Combinaton of hydrogen and oxygen gas yeilds water:-

2H2(g) + O2(g) =======> 2H2O(g)

ii) Combination of nitrogen and hydrogen gas yeilds ammonia gas:-

N2(g) + 3H2(g)======> 2NH3(g)
