Egg shell is made of CaCo3, we know that CaCo3 reacts with

nitric acid , it gives CO2,Ca(No3)2 and H2o

Same reaction happens with nitric acid is poured over egg shell...

CaCo3+2HNO3 =Ca(NO3)2+CO2+H2O
