red blood cell is kept in hypotonic solution will shrink and when red blood cell is kept in hypertonic solution it will swell and even blast therefore in both the cases it is very difficult for a person to leave because the selfish ink then it will have no oxygen carrying capacity and when the selfish then it will have a cause low hemoglobin

A red blood cell will swell and undergo hemolysis (burst) when placed in a hypotonic solution. When placed in a hypertonic solution, a red blood cell will lose water and undergo crenation (shrivel).
