What happen when rheo leaves are boiled in water and a drop of sugar syrup added to it

Sol: Generally, Rheo leaves are discoloured during boiling process. On further boiling, the cells will die. Though the sugar solution (hypertonic) is added on to the boiled Rheo leaves, there is no change observed.

When dry apricots are left for sometime in pure water, they will swell. Because, water will enter into them through the process of osmosis. Later,when these apricots will be transferred to sugar solution, they will again shrink
